Biblical Truth

Christ is King

In the presence of so much confusion and potential fear, we cannot be distracted from our relationship with Christ.  Stay informed but refocus on Christ and His ultimate purpose for our lives.

II Timothy 3:16 (NLT) "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives."

Temperance

“But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.”

Titus 2:12, 13 (NLT)

12 "And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, 13 and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.”

I Corinthians 9:25

All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

2 Peter 1:5, 6 (NLT)

5 "In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness.”

Prayer

John 15:7 (NLT)

“But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!”

John 16:24 (NKJV)

24 "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25 These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.  28 I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

1 John 5:14 (NKJV)

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

Faith

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."

Psalm 139:13 (NLT)

13 "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!”

Obedience

Isaiah 8:11-14 (NLT)

11 "The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, 12 Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.  13 Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.  14 He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

Isaiah 8:20 (NLT)

“Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?”

Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.”

Romans 1:25 (NLT)

25 "They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.”

Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.  4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

2 Peter 3:16-18 (ESV)

16 ". . . as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.  17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.  18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

End Times

1 John 2:18, 19 (NLT)

18 "Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. 19 These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us.”

1 John 4:2-4 (NLT)

2 "This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. 3 But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.  4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

II Thessalonians 2:9- (NLT)

9 "This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.  10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.”

I Timothy 1:4 (NLT)

4 "Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. 5 The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.  6 But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. 7 They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they speak so confidently. 8 We know that the law is good when used correctly.”

Philippians 1:28-30 (NLT)

28 "Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. 29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. 30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.

Revelation 9:15-19 (NLT)

15 "Then the four angels who had been prepared for this hour and day and month and year were turned loose to kill one-third of all the people on earth.  16 I heard the size of their army, which was 200 million mounted troops. 17 And in my vision, I saw the horses and the riders sitting on them. The riders wore armor that was fiery red and dark blue and yellow. The horses had heads like lions, and fire and smoke and burning sulfur billowed from their mouths.  18 One-third of all the people on earth were killed by these three plagues—by the fire and smoke and burning sulfur that came from the mouths of the horses.  19 Their power was in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails had heads like snakes, with the power to injure people.”

Revelation 13:17, 18 (NLT)

17 "And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.  18 Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.”
